ASTON, Pa.– Eastern University Field Hockey scored a goal in each half and played solid defense to close on the way to a 2-0 non-league win at Neumann University. The Eagles (3-5) finished with a 16-6 edge in shots.

JoEl Groff in space on the on the right wing. Groff earned the endline and slid a ball in front of the cage for a one-time finish.
The Eagles had all seven first-half shots and a 4-0 edge in penalty corners.
Eastern had two great chances to score turned away by strong defensive plays early in the second half.
Emerson Shauger jumped on a loose ball in the circle and converted in the 39th minute.
Down 2-0, the Knights pushed out of their end and applied pressure to the Eastern goal.
Abby Agapito made a pair of stops late in the third quarter and
Grace Wise came up with a huge defensive save midway through the fourth. Agapito finished with three saves to earn the shutout win.
The Eagles are at Delaware Valley on Thursday night.
