ANNVILLE, Pa. - Two fourth-quarter tallies proved to be the difference on Saturday night as Eastern Field Hockey dropped a 2-0 decision to Lebanon Valley at Arnold Field. The Dutchmen outshot the Eagles by 15, and late goals by Lexi Ward and Rebecca Lane carried LVC to its fourth win.

LVC outshot Eastern 18-3 in the contest, which included a 9-2 advantage in shots on frame. All three of Eastern's shots came in the first half of play as the LVC defense tightened in front of the cage after halftime.

After a scoreless first three quarters, Ward finally broke the tie 1:22 into the fourth frame. Less than three minutes later, Lane added an insurance goal to give the Dutchmen a lead they would not relinquish.

JoEl Groff finished with two shots for the Eagles, both on target, while Emerson Shauger also finished with a shot attempt. Senior goalie Abby Agapito collected seven saves.

The Eagles (2-3) return to St. Davids on Wednesday to take on MAC Freedom foe Arcadia. The game is set to begin at 4:00 pm.
