READING, Pa. - Eastern Men's Tennis, in its second MAC Commonwealth contest of the season, fell to Alvernia 7-2 at Angelica Park.
Jeffrey Day continued his strong season with his fourth win at No. 3 singles, while the duo of
Jacob Craig and
Ethan Goonewardene earned a victory at No. 3 doubles.
Day improved to 4-1 in his first season, all coming at No. 3 singles. The Kennett Square, Pa. native won the first set 6-4 against Tommy Figurelli, before falling 6-0 in set two. Day rebounded in set three with a 6-2 victory to earn the win. In their first time teaming this season, Craig and Goonwardene gave up just two points in an 8-2 triumph in doubles play.
The Eagles will be back home this weekend for a conference showdown with Hood. Opening serve at the Eastern Tennis Courts is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
