READING, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse won ten draws in the opening half, but the host Alvernia University Golden Wolves jumped to a 12-3 halftime lead and held on for a 21-5 win.
Ellie Pruitt scored four goals in the loss.
The Golden Wolves (8-7, 2-5) scored int he opening 30 seconds and built. a 6-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. The Eagles had a slight edge in draws through the opening four minutes, but Alvernia forced seven turnovers to create the early lead. Pruitt scored three times in the second quarter to close the Alvernia lead to 10-3.
Emerson Shauger and
Caitlyn Quizon had assists on the goals.
Pruitt scored her fourth in the third quarter and Shauger wrapped up the Eastern scoring with an unassisted goal in the fourth.
Sarah Hunte had five draw controls and
Teresa Gailey and Shauger each had four.
The Eagles will wrap up their season on Saturday at Hood.
