FREDERICK, Md.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse dropped a 15-4 decision at Hood College in the final game of the season for both programs.
Emerson Shauger scored twice,
Caitlyn Quizon added a goal , and
Emily Stiles scored her first career goal.
Through the opening 15 minutes, Hood had a 7-1 edge in draw controls and a 10-1 advantage in shots on the way to a 7-0 lead. Shauger scored the opening goal of the second period, but Hood closed out the half with the final four goals.
Stiles buried a free-position goal late in the third quarter and the Eagles scored the only two goals of the fourth quarter. Shauger scored on a free-position goal early and
Teresa Gailey set up Quizon for the final goal of the game. The goal was the 50th of her career. Her rookie campaign was cut short by COVID and she missed her second season with injury.
The games was the final game for Quizon,
Alyse Hand,
Ellie Pruitt, and
Sara Haas. Pruitt led the Eagles this year with 27 goals. Haas and Hand have been regular contributors on the Eastern defense. Hand finished this season with 24 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers.
