CHESTER, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse fell to the Widener University Pride in a MAC Commonwealth game on Saturday. The Eagles won 11-of-23 draws in the game, but the host Pride used pressure defense and a barrage of shots to earn the 19-2 win.
Caitlyn Quizon and
Ellie Pruitt scored for the Eagles.
The Pride (7-4, 2-0) scored 45 seconds in and built a 5-0 lead in the opening six minutes.
The Eagles finally broke through when
Emerson Shauger set up Quizon five minutes in to the second quarter. Widener led 13-1 and held a 27-2 edge in shots at halftime. Pruit scored the first goal of the fourth quarter.
The Eagles host the No. 11 Messiah University Falcons on Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
