GRANTHAM, Pa. - In its first MAC Commonwealth action of the season on Saturday, Eastern Men's Tennis dropped a 9-0 decision to Messiah.
Jeffrey Day continued his strong start to his first season at No. 3 singles. After dropping the first set 6-4, the Kennett Square native shut out Messiah's Josh Gingerich 6-0 in set two. Day battled in set three, but came up just short at 6-4.
At No. 2 doubles, Day and
William Livezey kept it close but ultimatlely lost 8-5, while
Jacob DeVage and
Ryan Kratz fell 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
Eastern will continue its conference season on Wednesday against Alvernia in Reading. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
