ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse fell behind early and was unable to recover in a 23-2 loss to the visiting Albright College Lions in the MAC Commonwealth opener for both teams. Ellie Pruitt and Caitlyn Quizon scored the goals for the Eagles. 

The Eagles won seven-of-11 first-quarter draws, but the Lions forced seven turnovers and fired 18 shots on the way to an 11-0 lead. The Eastern defense settled the game in the second, but the offense was only able to beat Albright goalie Caelainn Morrison one time in the frame. She made seven of her nine saves in the first half. Annie Gough stopped three shots in the second period and the teams went to the locker rooms with Albright up 12-1.

The visitors outshot the Eagles 19-5 in the second half to pull away. 

Eastern is at Widener on Saturday.
