ANNVILLE, Pa. – Eastern University Women's Lacrosse dropped a 23-3 decision at Lebanon Valley College. The Eagles got two goals from
Hailey Ferry and one from
Emerson Shauger, but it was not enough to overcome a fast start from the hosts.
The Dutchmen (7-5, 3-0) controlled all 11 first quarter draws and scored on 11 of their 15 shots. Ferry had the Eagles only shot of the first quarter.
The Eagles got on the board with two goals midway through the second quarter. Ferry put in her 16th of the year after
Grace Wise collected a ground ball and started a successful Eastern clear.
Sarah Hunte won the ensuing draw and the Eagles converted that possession into a goal from Shauger. Lebanon Valley answered the two Eastern goals to build a 16-2 halftime edge. The Eagles split the draws equally in the second quarter.
With Lebanon Valley controlling the ball and the scoreboard, the pace of the game slowed through the second half. LVC still finished with an 18-4 edge in shots over the final 30 minutes.
Ferry scored the final goal of the game late.
Eastern (1-9, 0-3) is at Stevenson on Saturday.
