ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Eastern University Women's Lacrosse fell behind early and was unable to make up ground as the #13 York College Spartans dominated possession to pull away to a 22-1 win.
Emerson Shauger scored the lone goal for the Eagles.
The Spartans (6-4, 2-0) won all 12 first-quarter draws and controlled 16-of-17 before the half. While the Eagles forced seven first-half turnovers, they also committed seven and were not able to overcome the decided advantage in possession. The Spartans scored on their first five shots and built an 8-0 lead before Shauger earned a free position shot with a hard dodge down the right alley. Shauger bounced in the goal for her 11th of the year.
The York lead grew to 11-1 before the end of the first quarter and was 16-1 by halftime. Fifteen different players scored for the Spartans.
Sarah Hunte forced four turnovers to lead the Eastern defense.
The Eagles (1-8, 0-2) will play at Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday.
