ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse dropped a 16-1 decision to the visiting Widener University Pride in the MAC Commonwealth opener for both teams. Hailey Ferry scored the lone goal for the Eagles. 

The Eagles (1-7, 0-1) kept the Pride on the perimeter for much of the first half, but the visitors took advantage of extra possessions gained by dominating the draws and forcing turnovers. Widener led 10-0 at the half. The Eastern defense forced ten first-half turnovers, but the Pride extended several possessions by winning loose balls after an Eastern defender knocked a ball free. 

The Pride finished the game with a 13-6 edge in draw controls and limited the Eagles to 9-of-21 on clears.
