HAVERFORD, Pa - In the second contest of a back-to-back on Wednesday, Eastern Baseball, despite seven hits, could only muster one run and left 12 runners stranded in a 16-1 loss to Haverford. The Fords (9-10) scored 12 runs in the first four innings, six of which came in the third, to take control of the contest.
With three more conference games on the horizon, several of the Eagles' younger players got a chance for extended playing time. First-year outfielder
Brian Lang put together one of his strongest performances to date in his rookie season. The New Castle, De. native recorded two hits in his five plate appearances, which included his first collegiate home run in the seventh inning.
Fellow first-year
Evan Barks collected his first career double, while
Matt McHale added his team-leading sixth two-bagger of the season.
Brock Langlotz,
Joe Paradise, and
Jason Hall each finished with a hit apiece.
The Eagles will travel to Widener on Friday to take on the Pride for the second time this week. The single, nine-inning contest will begin at 3:30 pm.
