LANCASTER, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Tennis dropped an 8-1 decision at Lancaster Bible College in the team's third match of the spring.
Trinity Gruber picked ups he team's lone win with a 7-6, 6-3 win at third singles.
The Eagles dropped the three doubles matches to fall in a hole early. Gracehope Stevens fell to a tough opponent at the top singles spot in the first singles match to finish. Gruber battled her way to her first collegiate win top pull the Eagles back to within three before the Chargers secured the match with a win at the fourth singles spot.
Kayla Patitucci nearly forced a third set but fell 7-6 in the second to drop her match at second singles.
"We are getting better," Interim Head Coach
Eric Houston said of his women's squad. "With every match, we are gaining experience and improving in our games. We will keep working."
The Eagles (0-3) are slated to host Rosemont College next Wednesday.
