IMMACULATA, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse got goals from six different players, but it was not enough as the Eagles dropped an 18-6 result at Immaculata.
Ellie Pruitt led the way with a goal, an assist and six draw controls.
The host Mighty Macs (1-1) jumped out to a 6-1 lead at the end of a quarter and pushed their advantage to 12-2 at the halftime break.
Caitlyn Quizon scored from
Teresa Gailey in the first quater and Pruitt put away her goal early in the second. Immaculata had an 18-4 edge in first-half shots.
With Pruitt,
Hailey Ferry, and rookie Cecilia Wilson on the circle, the Eagles won 9-of-15 first-half draw controls.They finished the game with a 16-to-11 edge on the restarts.
Though the Mighty Macs outscored the Eagles 6-4 in the second half, the Eastern defense held the Immaculata attack to only nine shots. The Eastern offense converted on 4-of-9 second-half shots.
Molly Dowling and
Emerson Shauger scored in the third period and Kayleigh Hess-Davila and Ferry scored in the fourth.
The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday at Rutgers-Camden.
