ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - In Appalachian Esports Rocket League action on Dec. 1, Eastern Rocket League came away with a thrilling 3-2 triumph over Messiah in its final tuneup before the NECC Tournament Semifinals.
Eastern set the tone for the match in the first game, defeating the Falcons 2-1 in overtime. Messiah tied the series at 1-1 with a 2-1 win in game two, before the Eagles bounced back with a 3-0 win in the third game.
Messiah pushed the series to a fifth and final game with a 1-0 win in game four, before Eastern closed it out with a 3-2 in overtime.

Ethan Davie clinched the match in extra time to give the Eagles the win.
The following day, Eastern won its NECC Tournament Semifinal, 3-2, over New Jersey City University. After a back-and-forth first four games, the Eagles dominated the final match, shutting out the Gothic Knights 4-0.
Eastern's Rocket League squads will compete in the finals of their respective division in the NECC Tournament this coming Friday, Dec. 9. The Eagles' primary team will take on Waynesburg University beginning at 7:30 pm, and the secondary squad will do battle with Alvernia at 8:00 pm. Both matches will be streamed on Twitch.
