SWARTHMORE, Pa.– Eastern University Field Hockey dropped a 5-0 decision at Swarthmore College. The host Garnet scored a pair of goals in the first period and held on for the win.

The Eagles had a chance to halve the lead in the second period,  but. a defensive save on a Maisie Dorwart shot kept the Garnet up a pair. Swarthmore added a third goal to grab control of the game in the 27th minute. 

Swarthmore (3-1) added a goal in the third and a goal in the fourth for the final margin. Eastern (1-4) will be at Alvernia for the squad's MAC Commonwealth opener on Saturday.
