Women's Lacrosse Drops Home Finale to Lebanon Valley

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– Playing in the final home game of the year, Eastern University Women's Lacrosse dropped a 24-5 decision to the 2019 MAC Commonwealth Champion Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen. Hailey Ferry and Ellie Pruitt each scored twice in the loss.

The visitors jumped to a big lead early. Ferry scored on a free position goal, but the Dutchmen controlled possession and built a 14-1 lead with 11 minutes to play in the first half. Carly Burns scored on a free position attempt to stop the run and Ferry found Pruitt on a neat cut to answer an LVC goal, but the lead grew to 16-3 at the half.

The Eagles scored the first two goals of the second half, but the LVC work at the draw and in possession helped them to close out the game with the final eight goals. Though Ferry led the Eagles with seven draw controls, the Dutchmen enjoyed a 21-10 edge in that category.

Teresa Gailey made eight saves in the first half and Emily Stiles made four in the second.

The Eagles will finish their season at York on Saturday.
