ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– In the squad's first action in nearly two full years, a young Eastern University Women's Tennis squad dropped a 7-2 non-league decision to the visiting FDU-Florham Devils. With the Devils only bringing five players, the Eagles picked up wins at sixth singles and third doubles.
Emily Stevens, who played first doubles and third singles, is the only Eastern player who was not in her first collegiate match today.
GraceHope Stevens played in the top spot in both singles and doubles for the Eagles.
"We have a lot of new players with little experience," Head Coach
Mark Spangler said, " We played a very good team, and we have some things to work on this week. This team is eager to work and improve."
The Eagles will travel to Stevens Institute of Technology for another non-league test before opening the MAC Commonwealth season at Alvernia on April 10.
