READING, Pa.– Eastern University Men's Volleyball dropped a pair of tight three-set matches at Alvernia today.

Alvernia (5-2) hit a stunning .500 in the second set to pull away to a 25-17 win and grab a commanding lead in the match.
The Eagles rallied from a 16-12 deficit in the third on four points with Flor at the service line. The two teams battled over the next couple points and the set was tied at 22. Again, Alvernia scored a single point on serve to pull off a 25-23 win.

"The main difference today, was their ability to counter attack. We are limited in our ability to create a lot of the bang-bang plays that lead to transition points. Alvernia won those points consistently today. Their ball control and fast middles left our outside blockers often in one on one situations. We kept the ball off the floor we didn't do it with enough precision to counter attack effectively. Alvernia was solid in every aspect of the game, and even with only a couple subs, our guys played their hearts out today."
Foster Lobb finished with 23 kills and 13 digs, and
Trey Miller had 29 digs on the day. The sophomore Libero picked up an amazing 20 digs to keep the Eagles in points throughout the opening match.
Lucas Adam hit .444 with 10 kills in the first match, and
Jeremiah Pha tallied 65 assists and continued to show growth in the setter position.
The Eagles host a two matches against Stevens Institute of Technology on Tuesday and will play Widener at home on Wednesday.
