ANNVILLE, Pa. - Eastern Women's Soccer's road woes continued on Tuesday evening as the Eagles suffered a 1-0 loss to Lebanon Valley to fall to 1-2-1 in MAC Commonwealth play. The match marked the Eagles' fifth loss away from Olson Stadium this season and fourth via shutout.
At home, the Eagles are 5-0-2 record with 18 goals scored. However, on the road, including Tuesday's loss, the Eagles have recorded just four tallies, three of which came in one contest, and have compiled a record of just 1-5.
Offensively, the Eagles were held in check offensively by the Dutchmen, recording just five shots, which all came in the second half. Lebanon Valley held an 11-0 advantage in shots in the first 45 minutes and a 16-shot advantage over Eastern for the contest.
"Although we had a few good moments, we ultimately failed to win enough 50/50 chances," Eastern Head Coach
AJ Stueck said. "Lebanon Valley won many of the first and second balls, making it difficult for us to keep the ball in their end."
Gabi Hollinger led the Eagles with a pair of attempts, while
Lindsay Kline,
Cassie Avenick, and
Olivia Nicholson each recorded one shot apiece.
Emily Honig collected seven saves, increasing her season total to 42.
Eastern will be back at Olson Field on Saturday for a big MAC Commonwealth showdown against rival Messiah. Kickoff is set for 12:00 noon.
