Women's Lacrosse Falls to Misericordia

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.– After picking up a win in the MAC Freedom Opener on Wednesday at Mnahattanville, Eastern University Women's Lacrosse dropped a 23-5 decision to Misericordia in the team's first league match at home. Meghan Kosmides scored four times and grabbed a team-best six draw controls.

How It Happened:
Eastern scored first on a free position shot from Kosmides. The Cougars then dominated on draw controls and reeled off 11 goals over the next 14 minutes. Sabrina Campbell then stopped the run with an unassisted tally to stop the clock with 11:23 to play in the first half. The Cougars scored the next two goals before Kosmides scored on a nice pass from Campbell to close the gap to 13-3. Misericordia picked up the final goal of the half to go to the intermission up 14-3.

Marcy Spencer made seven of her ten stops in the first half.

Kosmides scored twice  more in the second half. Stephanie Arnold caused five tunrovers and had four ground balls to pace the Eastern defense.

Coach Campbell Says:

"Meghan Kosmides, Stephanie Arnold and Stephanie Druid had a great game for us. Our team has fight, and I was proud the way we played the whole game and forced them Miseri to work for what they achieved. We couldn't win the draw and that cost us today. They are very fast and they capitalized on their opportunities. I was pleased with my team's ability to get caused turnovers in the defensive end."
