BETHLEHEM, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Tennis dropped an 8-1 decision on a cool and breezy afternoon at Moravian College (14-1).
Emma Paugh picked up Eastern's only win with a 6-1, 6-0 win at the top singles spot.
How It Happened:
The Eagles dropped all three doubles matches. Paugh and
Lauren Good played an extended match at the top singles spots, but despite lengthy rallies and several deuce games, the Eagles wound up on the short end of an 8-3 result.
Paugh controlled her match at the top spot, and Good had a close first set before retiring down 6-4, 4-1. The rest of the Eagles line-up played up a spot with
Cara Degnan, who usually plays at the third singles spot out. In those spots, the Eagles were unable to win a game in the bottom four spots in the singles order.
Up Next:
The Eagles (5-6)travel to Wilkes-Barre tomorrow to take on the defending MAC Freedom Champion Wilkes University Colonels.
