ORLANDO, Fla.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse fell to Oneonta, 22-4, in the team's final day in Florida.
Meghan Kosmides scored three goals and gathered five draw controls, but it was not enough against a deep Oneonta team that had 11 player score goals in the game.
The Red Dragons (2-1) scored the first eight goals of the match before Kosmides stopped the run with a pair of goals in a 42-second spurt. Oneonta answered with four more goals to close out the half with a 12-2 lead. The Red Dragons held a 15-3 edge in first-half shots on goal. The Eagles were only 5-of-11 on clearing attempts and surrendered 21 turnovers before the break.
The Oneonta lead grew to 19-2 before
Mackenzie Dix scored her first goal of the season midway through the half. Kosmides put away a free position shot late for Eastern's final tally.
The Eagles return north and will have ten days to prepare for their next game at Swarthmore College on March 16.
