Women's Lacrosse Rallies for 14-13 Win at LBC

LANCASTER, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse scored the final three gals of the game to claim a 14-13 win at Lancaster Bible College. Meghan Kosmides, who scored all five of her goals in the second half, scored the first two goals in the burst. Sabrina Campbell put away a free position shot with 42 seconds left to secure the win.

How It Happened:
The Eagles trailed 8-5 with seven minutes to play in the first half. Allison Andres put away her first of two goals with four minutes to play to close the LBC lead to 8-6 at the half. LBC had a 17-13 edge in first-half shots. The Eagles were only 1-of-4 on first-half free position shots. Campbell had three first-half goals. The Chargers had a 10-5 edge in draw controls before the intermission.

LBC scored the first goal of the second half before the Eagles answered with a four-goal run over the next ten minutes. Marcie Spencer made three saves as the Eagles turned a 9-6 deficit into a 10-9 lead.

Kosmides, who was held without a draw control or a goal in the first half, scored three of the four goals in the burst. Campbell set up the first one, and the other two came on free position shots. Andres scored to tie the game in the burst.

The Chargers (0-6) scored three in a row to grab a 12-10 lead. Stephanie Arnold scored from Mackenzie Dix to trim the host's lead to 12-11 with six minutes to play before LBC answered with a man-up tally to restore a two-goal lead with 4:24 on the clock.

Kosmides claimed the next draw and converted a free position shot to make it 13-12. Andres grabbed the next draw and Kosmides put away  a Claudia Glover pass to tie the game with 1:44 on the clock.

Kosmides won the next draw, her sixth in the final 16 minutes. The sophomore midfielder won four of the final six draws and the Eagles claimed five-of-six down the stretch. Campbell was fouled in the arc and converted the free position shot for her fourth of the day and tenth of the year.

LBC won the final draw, but the Eastern defense held and Spencer made a save, her tenth of the game, with three seconds left to preserve the win.

The Eagles (1-3) were 5-of-8 on free position shots in the second half. Spencer made seven of her ten saves after the intermission.

The Eagles will pay their home opener on Saturday against Widener.
