RADNOR, Pa.– Eastern University Men's Tennis started the spring portion of its schedule with an away match at Eagle Rd. rival Cabrini University. The Eagles extended a pair of singles matches to three sets but were unable to take a point off the unbeaten Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers won all three doubles matches to grab control of the match.
Ryan Hamilton, playing at second singles, forced a tiebreaker in the opening set before falling behind 7-6. He rallied to take the second set by a 6-4 score before dropping the super-tiebreaker, 10-4. At the third singles slot,
Cole Patti also dropped the first set of his singles match. He equalized with a 6-1 win in the second set before falling 10-6 in the breaker.
Nick Wood forced a tiebreaker in the second set of his match at the fifth singles slot. He fell 6-3, 7-6.
"We fought hard and were in a lot of the singles matches," Head Coach
Mark Spangler said. "We will really work on doubles play heading into next week."
The Eagles play at Rosemont College next Tuesday.
