Women's Golf Falls in Match Play

FLEETWOOD, Pa.– Eastern University Women's Golf Dropped a 3-1 decision in a match-play event with Alvernia. Alyse Headley won her match 2 and 1.

How It Happened:
In their first match-play event, the Eagles played without a pair fo players at the top of the order. The event was set up to give the teams a chance to compete at Golden Oaks, which will be the site of the 2020 MAC Women's Golf Championships.

Jaclyn D'Angelo and Rachel Morton each played solid matches before falling 2 and 1. Morton shot a 39 on the front nine, but her opponent also played steady golf and edged her out after a tough stretch on the back.

Headley put pressure on her opponent with strong and steady drives. Kara Thomas lost her match 6 and 5.

Coach Patterson says:
"It was great for us to get a look at the course. Morgan and Elaina have been playing great, so not having them here today made a difference, but I was pleased with the way we competed. We are really looking forward to a strong finish for the fall at LVC next Friday."

Up Next:
The Eagles will wrap up their fall at Lebanon Country Club at an invitational hosted by Lebanon valley.
