MADISON, N.J.– Eastern University Women's Lacrosse fell behind early and was unable to rally in a 20-5 MAC Freedom loss at FDU-Florham.
Liz Brennan scored three times in the loss.
The host Devils (12-4, 6-0 MAC Freedom) dominated the draws early and fired 25 first half shots and put 18 of them on goal on the way to a 15-0 lead at the break. Eastern won 7-of-11 second-half draws, but the Devils won 12-of-15 in the first half. Eastern struggled to escape the zone in the first half as the Devils broke up five of Eastern's nine clearing attempts before halftime.
The Eagles had an 11-9 edge in shots after halftime, but the deficit was too big to overcome.
The Eagles have locked up a spot int he MAC Freedom tournament. Eastern (6-7, 4-2 MAC Freedom) can secure the third seed in the with a win over King's at home on Saturday. That game starts at noon.
