ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Eastern University Women's Tennis won at the top of both the singles and doubles order, but the visiting FDU-Florham Devils won two-of-three doubles matches and the final four singles spots to earn a 6-3 MAC Freedom win.
Emma Paugh and
Lauren Good were both double-winners for the Eagles. The pair combined to win in a tough 8-6 match at first doubles. Paugh then controlled her singles match from the baseline with a 6-3, 6-2 win. Good dominated her match at second singles with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
"Lauren and Emma both really controlled their matches," Head Coach
Mark Spangler said after the match. "Their doubles game is coming along well."
The Eagles were not able to grab points in the lower spots in the order.
Emily Thomas pushed her opponent in a 6-3, 6-4 loss at number six, but no Eastern player was able to extend her match to three sets.
