Alyssa Bolger homered to lead off Eastern University's doubleheader at Penn State Brandywine, but the host Lions had the best of the day after that. The Eagles managed only four hits in dropping the opening game by a 10-1 score. The Lions pounded out 17 hits on the way to an 11-5 win in the nightcap.
Bolger had a double in the second game to run her hitting streak to five in a row. She knocked in the first run of the second game with a ground ball off the pitcher.
Emily Loomis had an RBI single and
Shelby O'Neill drove in two with two-out hits in the inning, and the Eagles trimmed an eight-run deficit to three with the five-run inning.
The Lions grabbed three back in in the bottom of the inning to put the game out of reach.
After playing four-straight days, the Eagles will get a day to regroup before traveling to Haverford College for a non-league doubleheader on Thursday.
