CENTER VALLEY, Pa.– In the second MAC Freedom series of the season, Eastern University Softball dropped a pair of run-shortened decisions at DeSales.
Grace Gonzalez had three of the Eagles' five hits on the afternoon.
The Eagles managed just two hits in an 8-0 loss in the opener. The Bulldogs led 3-0 after four innings and stretched the lead to 4-0 in the fifth before plating four in the sixth to end the first game.
Eastern grabbed a 1-0 lead on a
Shelby O'Neill squeeze bunt in the top of the first in game two, but the Bulldogs scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the first to grab control of the game. DeSales first basemen Reilly Kerr delivered the big blow of the inning with a three-run homer.
Gonzalez drove in
Alyssa Bolger with a double to left center in the fifth, but the Bulldogs pushed two runs across in the bottom of the sixth to end the game.
The Eagles will host Cabrini for a single game on Monday at 4:00 pm before hosting FDU-Florham in a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Tuesday.
