BRYN ATHYN, Pa.– After several weeks of uneven weather, Eastern University Women's Tennis finally started its spring season with a convincing 7-2 win at Bryn Athyn College. The Eagles won five of six singles matches and claimed the top two doubles matches as well.
Emma Paugh and
Lauren Good combined to win 8-3 at first doubles. Paugh then controlled her singles match from the baseline and earned a 6-2, 6-1 win. Good did not drop a game in her singles match.
Olivia Weaver and
Shannon Jugler cruised to an 8-0 win at second doubles. The two combined to drop only three games in winning their singles matches.
Cara Degnan won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth doubles.
Head Coach
Mark Spangler was pleased with the way his group opened the season and is looking forward to seeing the team compete at Alvernia University tomorrow.
