Women's Lacrosse Stumbles At Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Women's Lacrosse fell to hosts Moravian College on Saturday afternoon 24-13. The Eagles kept it close trailing 15-9 at halftime but couldn't muster enough offense in the second half to keep up with the Greyhounds. 

Eastern (1-8) fell behind early allowing three Moravian (5-4) multi-goal runs in the first half. After the Greyhounds had opened the game on a three-goal run, Stephanie Hogan got the Eagles on the board scoring a man-up goal to make the score 3-1 with just over 24 minutes left to play in the opening half. Julie Haggan cut the deficit to one just over 30 seconds later when she finished off a pass from Hogan to make it 3-2. 

Another three-goal run by Moravian stretched the lead to 6-2, but the Eagles came back once again. Anna Charlebois netted her first of the game with just under 20 minutes left to play in the first half to pull Eastern within three. Alexandria Vincent scored exactly two minutes later when she finished off a pass from Charlebois to make it 6-4. 

Moravian responded with a four-goal run of their own and scored seven of the next ten goals overall to stretch its lead all the way to 13-7. After falling behind 10-4, Hogan tallied two goals just over two minutes apart to pull the Eagles within five, 11-6. Eva Ehrhardt and Charlebois then scored three of the next five goals to pull the Eagles within four, 13-9. Ehrhardt tallied her first goals of the game and season with just over seven minutes left to play in the half to make it 12-7. Charlebois then scored back-to-back goals just under two minutes apart to make it 13-9. 

After the Greyhounds had tallied two goals to close out the first half they scored five straight to open the second half. Overall Moravian netted seven straight to take a 20-9 lead. Haggan ended the Greyhounds run netting back-to-back for Eastern to make the score 20-11. Ehrhardt and Haggan closed out the scoring for the Eagles making the score final at 24-13. 

Overall Eastern took 23 shots placing 20 of them on net. Four Eagles tallied multi-goal with Haggan leading all Eastern scorers with four while Charlebois and Hogan each netted three. Ehrhardt rounded out the scoring with two goals, her first two of the season. 

Eastern travels to TCNJ on April 7th for a 7 pm game.
