GLASSBORO, N.J. - Eastern Baseball fell to host Rowan on Tuesday afternoon by the final score of 20-3. The Eagles struggled offensively, totaling only eight hits as compared to Rowan's 18.
Eastern (12-15-3) fell behind early and were unable to overcome the deficit as the Profs (18-13) kept the Eagles offense in check all game.
Joe Grato was one of only three Eastern players to tally more than one hit as he finished the game going 2-4 scoring one run with an RBI.
The Eagles trailed 4-0 in the top of the fourth inning when
Kyle Daddario singled to center field to score Grato and cut the lead to just three. However, five runs by Rowan over the next two innings stretched its lead to 9-1.
Daddario would reach on a fielders choice in the sixth, plating
Tommy Strazza again to pull the Eastern within seven at 9-2. The Eagles would score their final run of the game one inning later when Grato would single to left to score
Angelo Kelly bringing the score to 9-3.
The Profs would score 11 runs over the next two innings to make the score final at 20-3.
Kelly and
Shane Albertson were the only other two players to record multi-hits games. Kelly went 2-5 and scored a run while Albertson went 2-4.
Eastern hosts Immaculata on April 20th at 3:30 pm.
