GLASSBORO, N.J.—Eastern University Women's Lacrosse had one last test in the regular season on Saturday at Rowan University. The Rowans Profs proved to have too much firepower for the Eagles and took the non-conference contest 18–7.
While the Eagles were playing a non-conference game on Saturday, the rest of the Freedom Conference schedule concluded and the Eagles found out that their first-round opponent will be the FDU-Florham Devils. That postseason game is scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Anna Charlebois and Victoria Rath led the Eagles with two goals apiece. Julie Haggan, Jenn McKelvie and Steph Biancucci all scored a goal as well.
Rowan's Brittany Bollendorf netted a game-high five goals.
The Eagles scored first on an unassisted goal by Rath 41 seconds into the game. Rowan, however, bounced back with three straight.
Eastern then tallied three goals in less than three minutes to take the lead.
However, the wheels fell off for Eastern after that as Rowan posted 12 straight goals to take control of the game.
Eastern challenges FDU-Florham on Wednesday on the road as the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. The Eagles are back in the postseason for the first time since 2012.
