RADNOR, Pa.—Eastern University Softball dropped the Battle
of Eagle Road doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon, losing to the neighboring
Cabrini College Cavaliers 6-5 and 8-4.
The two teams each dinged three home runs in the series.

of Eastern's were solo shots. Melinda Kreimer, Karlee Kerchersky and Keri Hupp
all went yard for the Eagles.

of Cabrini's runs in game one with two home runs. Her second home run was a
walk-off shot.

Kreimer, who had homered in the second inning, punched in two runs with a
single in the fifth.
Cabrini kept Eastern from running away with the game by
posting three runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Eagles had the Cavs down to
their final strike in the, but Cavalier Alexandria Ramos worked a walk to keep
the inning alive. The next batter, Cooper, then blasted her first three-run
bomb.
Cooper put the game to an end with a walk-off three-run home
run in the bottom of the seventh.
In game two, Cabrini took a 7-0 lead after four. Eastern
chipped away at the deficit with an infield RBI-single by Kasey Williams in the
top of the fifth. However, Cabrini matched that run in the bottom of the
inning. In the top of the sixth, Eastenr's Karlee Kerchersky and Keri Hupp
homered back-to-back. Eastern scored once more in the top of the seventh to cut
the Cavs' lead in half, but couldn't pull any closer.
