MEDIA, Pa.--Eastern University Women's Basketball collected its 10th win of the season on the road at PSU-Brandywine on Wednesday afternoon.
The Eagles improved to 10-3 with the 74-56 win and handed the Brandywine Lions their fourth loss of the season (8-4 overall).
Eagles' sophomore forward Emily Lavin towered over the competition and filled the stat sheet with 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting, nine rebounds, six blocks and three assists. Lavin leads the Eagles with a 67 percent conversion rate from the floor and ranks in the top five nationally in that category. Complementing Lavin in the paint was senior Meghan Nowak who posted 12 points and nine rebounds in 18 minutes; her time was limited because of foul trouble. The Eagles outscored the Lions 34-4 in the paint.
Guard Gina DiDomenico added 12 points with four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
The Eagles took a four-point lead into halftime and kept the Lions from scoring for the first 4:30 of the second half. Eastern held Brandywine to eight points in the first 10 minutes of the half. Overall, the Lions were held to 29.1 percent shooting from the floor.
Stacey MacArthur led the Lions with 17 points, nine from behind the arc and eight from the free-throw line.
The Eagles forced 21 PSU turnovers but committed 22 turnovers of their own, a number they will have to trim when they face last year's national champion, FDU-Florham, on Jan. 14.
