HOBOKEN, N.J.--Eastern University Women's Soccer squared off against another quality opponent on Tuesday night, falling 6-1 to the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks.
The Ducks (6-4) badgered the Eagles (3-8) with 32 shots, 21 in the first half alone. The Eagles went shotless in the first period but took seven shots in the final 45 minutes.
Eastern sophomore forward Emily Cole recorded the Eagles' goal in the 58th minute. Cole received the helper from freshman center back Alex Imperatore after a failed Ducks' clear. The goal was Cole's sixth, a team-high.
However, by that time, the game was virtually out of reach for the Eagles. The Ducks tallied four first half goals and then two more in the second half prior to Cole's goal. Raba Nassif and Ana Heine each scored twice for the Ducks.
The Ducks are currently receiving votes in the East Regional Poll. Six of the Eagles' remaining seven losses have come against teams ranked in the top-10 regionally.
The Eagles travel back to New Jersey on Saturday to play at FDU-Florham at 3 p.m.
