ASTON, Pa.--Eastern University Volleyball improved to 11-1 after two more wins on Saturday at the Neumann University Invitational.
The Eagles edged the Richard Stockton College Ospreys in four-sets 25-22, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21 before knocking off the Marymount University Saints 25-19, 25-20, 25-19.
Lauren Sproles carried the Eagles against Stockton with her 24 kills. Sproles hit .288 for the match (24 kills, seven errors, 52 attacks) and also had 14 digs. Erin Hillman and Alicia Weigel each contributed 12 kills. Rylie Haas dug out 21 attacks against Stockton and added another 20 digs against Marymount. Defensive specialist Lauren Horst contributed 28 digs over the two matches.
The Eagles ended the Ospreys' seven-game win streak and gave the Saints their second loss of the day and of the whole season.
Eastern hit .203 as a team against Marymount. Katrina Pisch hit .588 for the match, clubbing 11 kills with one error on 17 attempts.
The Eagles play their conference opener on Wednesday at Delaware Valley College and then face their toughest weekend of the season. Eastern travels to Elmhurst, Ill., where they will face three nationally ranked teams: No. 4 Emory, No. 10 Washington-St. Louis and No. 15 Elmhurst.
