DOYLESTOWN, Pa.--Eastern University Volleyball pummeled the Delaware Valley College Aggies on Wednesday in the opening night of Freedom Conference play.
No. 11 Eastern dealt swiftly with the Aggies, winning the match 25-9, 25-9, 25-12.
The Eagles hit .477 for the match and held Del Val to a -.033 clip. Eastern freshman Morgan Shemonski put down eight kills on 10 attempts, with no errors, and senior Katrina Pisch was nearly as efficient, spiking seven kills on 10 attempts with no errors.
From the service line, Eastern's Kara Tecl and Miranda Kauffman each served out four aces.
Setter Rikki Schlager was crisp, dealing out 35 assists.
The Eagles fly out to Illinois for a weekend tournament against some of the best in the business. Three of the four opponents Eastern will challenge on Friday and Saturday are nationally-ranked as well (No. 2 Emory, No. 7 Washington-St. Louis, and No. 13 Elmhurst.
