SWARTHMORE, Pa.--Eastern University Field Hockey bombarded the Swarthmore College Garnet with 34 shots on goals on Thursday afternoon en route to an 8-3 victory.
The Eagles dominated possession, earning 23 penalty corners to the Garnet's eight. Eastern out-shot Swarthmore 42-9 (34-7 on goal) leading to their highest goal total of the season.
Alexa Borrelli opened the scoring floodgates in the 4th minute, pushing in a rebound during a corner player. The Eagles went on to score in the 13th, 16th, and 18th minutes before Swarthmore recorded its first goal in the 25th minute. Eastern rattled off another string of three goals, starting with Kinzler scoring two seconds before halftime. After O'Conner's goal in the 45th minute, Borrelli netted her hat trick with a goal in the 47th minute.
Swarthmore followed with two late second half goals, and Kinzler scored the final goal of the game in the 69th minute.
Eastern improved to 7-7 on the year and bounced Swarthmore to 1-13. Eastern travels to Wilkes University for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday.
