Men's Soccer Pillages Knights

ST. DAVIDS, Pa.--Seven different Eagles scored as Eastern Men's Soccer stomped the Berkeley College (N.J.) Knights 8-0 Wednesday afternoon.

Eastern freshman Justin Lee scored twice in the rout, including a nice header off a corner kick.

Jair Saenz started Eastern's scoring 11 minutes into the game with a corner kick placed into the the upper right corner.

Saenz then found midfielder Nate Roberts off a corner kick for a header inside the near post. Roberts was one of three Eagles who scored their first collegiate goals today. JD Saracco marked his first collegiate goal in the 22nd minute after receiving a nice pass from Benjamin Barnhart. Saracco then dribbled past two defenders for the finish.

Justin Lee scored his first goal of the game in the 32nd minute, assisted by Zach Johnson, putting Eastern up 4-0 going into the second half.

Mitch Osterhouse put Eastern up 5-0 in the 48th minute and Brandon Beaumont made it 6-0 in the 59th minute on a breakaway.

Lee notched his second goal in the 77th minute, using his head to knock in a corner kick from Hunter Rosenberg.

Lucas Hutchinson finished the scoring in the 81st minute, netting his first collegiate goal.

This is the second time the Eagles have beaten an opponent 8-0 this season. The Eagles have never faced Berkeley in the past and weren't exactly sure what kind of team they would field today. All of Berkeley's games prior to today had been decided by one goal or less, including a 1-0 win over Rennselaer Polytechnic, a team that made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament last season.

Eastern continues non-conference play on Saturday for a 2 p.m. start at Centenary College.
