Men's Soccer Streak Reaches Three

HACKETTSTOWN,N.J.--Eastern University Men's Soccer recorded its fifth shutout of the year to improve to 6-1 with a 3-0 non-league win at Centenary College. Brandon Reichart's tally in the 39th minute would prove to be the game-winner.

The Eastern defense stifled the Cyclone attack and limited the hosts to just one shot on goal for the match. The Eagles went up a man on a red card to the Centenary starting goalkeeper in the 27th minute. While the subsequent free kick from Jair Saenz went wide, the Eagles were able to take care of a restart chance in the 39th minute.

Brandon Reichart came forward from his right back position and knocked home his first of the year on assists from Hunter Rosenberg and Ben Barnhart.

The Cyclones had the first three shots of the second half and Joe Centeno made his lone save in the 54th minute. Shortly thereafter, Josh Cirocco doubled the Eastern edge with his second tally of the year on a shot from the right side of the box. The game was moving toward a 2-0 final when Zach Johnson fired in his first of the year in the 89th minute for the final margin.

The win is the third straight for the Eagles. It is also the first true road game of the year for Eastern. Their previous road game was played in front of a decidedly pro-Eastern crowd at Cabrini. The Eagles will be back in New Jersey this coming Wednesday for a road test against a strong Drew University squad.
