GALLOWAY, N.J.--Eastern Field Hockey ended its four-game road trip with a 3-2 loss at Richard Stockton on Saturday.
The Eagles fell to 2-3 on the season while the Richard Stockton Ospreys improved to 4-1.
Eastern took the lead in the sixth minute with a goal by Abby Wagner, her first of the year. Lauren Gay received the assist, her two assists this year are tied for most on the team with Alexa Borrelli.
Stockton tied the game in the eighth minute, but Eastern regained the lead at the end of the 14th minute. Defender Hannah Bartholomew notched her first goal of the year and the second of her career.
At the end of the 26th minute, the Ospreys took a penalty corner and got off three shots in a row, the first being blocked, the second saved by Eastern goalie Jennifer O'Neill, and the third getting past O'Neill to tie the game.
The Ospreys ended the tie 3:39 into the second half and the Eagles were unable to equalize the score. The Eagles put three shots on goal the rest of the half, including one that would have been a goal had it not been for a defensive save by a Stockton back on the goal line.
Eastern goalkeepers Jennifer O'Neill and Kylie Jones split time on Saturday. O'Neill recorded four saves and Jones five.
Eastern returns home for the first time since Aug. 30. The Eagles host Alvernia University at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
