WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- A short-handed Eastern University
Women's Lacrosse fell behind early and was unable to make up ground in a
17-7 loss at King's College (5-7, 2-1 Freedom) this afternoon. Sara
Blaylock scored four times in the loss.
The Monarchs had a 12-5
advantage in first-half draw controls and were able to convert that
possession into a 27-7 advantage in shots and a 12-4 halftime lead.
King's led 9-2 at the midway point of the period before Victoria Graham
set up Blaylock with her second of the game to briefly close the gap.
The Monarchs scored three more times before Blaylock closed the
first-half scoring with an unassisted tally.
Eastern goalie Cortney Andes made 12 of her 18 saves in the first half.
The
deficit was 16-5 at the midway point of the second half. The Eagles
scored twice in the final ten minutes. Graham finished with two goals
and an assist, and Shannon Wilcox also scored.
Eastern (0-11, 0-3 Freedom) hosts FDU-Florham on Wednesday afternoon.
