READING, Pa.--Eastern Women's Lacrosse fell Thursday afternoon to the Alvernia University Crusaders 16-6.
Sophomore Shannon Wilcox scored twice in the road loss.
Alvernia seniors Alyssa Verrillo and Allison Bainbridge combined for nine goals against the Eagles.
Verillo won the opening draw control and scored 12 seconds into the game. The Crusaders accumulated a 5-0 lead after four minutes and eight seconds of action.
Eastern got on the board with a goal by Shannon Wilcox at 23:50, assisted by Stephanie Hogan. Wilcox scored her second goal on a free-position shot with 11:20 remaining.
Eastern's Victoria Graham scored just before the end of the first half. Sara Blaylock, Julia Furniss and Stephanie Hogan each scored in the second half. Hogan's goal marked the first of her collegiate career.
The Eagles play No. 7 TCNJ on Saturday at 1 p.m.
