ST. DAVIDS, Pa.—Eastern Volleyball completed another perfect conference regular season by defeating the Delaware Valley College Aggies 25-10, 25-16, 25-14.
The No.18 Eagles improved to 26-4 this season and 7-0 in the Freedom Conference. Throughout the conference season the Eagles hit .318 as a team and held opponents to .017 (in 597 attempts, conference opponents had 127 kills and 117 errors). The Eagles still have not lost to a conference team since joining the Freedom Conference.
Eastern recognized its only senior before the game, outside hitter Kearby Benak (Houston, Texas). Benak, a two-time Mid-Atlantic All-Region player, is in an elite club of Eastern players with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career.
Benak and Lauren Sproles (Lititz, Pa./ Warwick) led the Eagles with nine kills. Sproles served five aces, all in the first set when she served 11 times in a row.
Setter Rikki Schlager dished out 37 assists and had three block assists.
The Eagles will finish the regular season with a non-conference game at Moravian on Friday. The Eagles will host the Freedom Conference Semifinal on Wednesday against Misericordia. The time for that game should be announced on Thursday; check back on goeasterneagles.com.
