SWARTHMORE, Pa.--Eastern Field Hockey earned its sixth straight win after doubling up the Swarthmore College Garnet 6-3 Tuesday afternoon.
Eastern senior Kelby Bolton and freshman Kaycie Andrew each scored twice in the victory. Bolton leads the Eagles with six goals, while Andrew has scored the second most, with five goals.
Bolton put the Eagles on the scoreboard 1:12 into the game, when Eastern earned its second penalty stroke of the season.
Eastern's Abby Wagner increased the lead to 2-0 one minute later, receiving the assist from senior Brittany Moyer.
Swarthmore followed in Eastern's footsteps, netting a penalty stroke goal in the 19th minute and evening the score in the 24th minute.
Tied 2-2 at the half, Eastern proceeded to score four consecutive goals. Senior Shannon Graybill scored her first goal of the season in the 40th minute and then assisted Kelby Bolton's goal in the 53rd minute. Just 28 seconds later, the Eagles scored again as Kaycie Andrew scored off a pass from Carly Friedman. Andrew netted her second goal of the game in the 59th minute, assisted by Abby Wagner.
Swarthmore's Nia Jones scored 38 seconds later to cut Eastern's lead to 6-3, but the Eagles held on for the remaining ten minutes to claim their sixth straight win.
The Eagles hope to continue that streak as they travel to Rowan University at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
