winning streak snapped with a pair of non-league losses at Widener
University this evening. The host Pride scored five runs in the bottom
of the fifth to earn a 5-1 win in the opener, Widener scored three times
in the fourth and added single tallies in the fifth and sixth to take
game two 5-2.

innings but were unable to plate a run. The Pride scored a pair of runs
on singles in the fifth. Val Perretti delivered the final blow in the
fifth with a pinch-hit three-run homer to left after two were out.
Eastern
pulled a run back in the top of the sixth with a Jaclyn Gangemi double
and an RBI single from Maggie McGowan, but they were unable to put a
substantial rally together.

Eagles scored a single run in the top of the sixth in game two. McGowan
doubled and scored on an error. Widener grabbed the run back in the
bottom of the inning and Eastern could only score once on three hits in
the top of the seventh.
Eastern (18-13-1) returns to Freedom Conference action at Manhattanville College with a chance to secure a
post-season berth. Any league win for the Eagles in their final four
games will put Eastern in the final four for the first time since
