DALLAS, Pa.--Eastern Volleyball swept the Misericordia Cougars 25-9, 25-15, 25-16 on Wednesday night.
Eastern junior Kearby Benak returned to the lineup Wednesday and led the Eagles with 12 kills on 21 attempts.
Sophomore Katrina Pisch, who leads the Eagles with a .426 hitting percentage this season and is tied for fourth in the country in that category, spiked eight kills in ten attempts with no errors. Senior Rachel Wenger also went error-free Wednesday, hitting .545 for the match (six kills, 11 attacks).
As a team the Eagles hit .411 total, including an incredibly efficient .455 in the first set and .520 in the second set, while holding the Cougars to .149 over the match. The .411 average is the third highest total for the Eagles this season, who averaged .269 a match coming into the game.
The Eagles served 13 aces in the win, a season high.
Eastern, 19-4 and 5-0 in the Freedom Conference, hosts King's College on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for the final regular season home game.
