Women's Lacrosse Tops King's

WILKES BARRE, Pa.- The game was rescheduled from Saturday, and early morning bus trouble pushed the start of play back by another hour. When play finally started at King's Colelge on Sunday, the Eastern University women's lacrosse team started slowly and were tied 4-4 after 20 minutes. The Eagles scored eight straight times in the final ten minutes of the first half and held on for the 18-7 win.

Christy Hild led scored four of her five goals in the decisive first half. After scoring the opening goal of the second half, the first year midfielder  played the role of provider with a trio of assists to close out the day. The Eagles built their edge to 18-5 with eleven minutes left before the Monarchs scored the final two goals of the contest to close the gap.

Grace Griffith put together another strong day with a pair of goals and five assists, and Allie Gauthier scored three times. Kelly Dando and Amelia Mcnamara each scored twice.

"Grace really played well today," Head Coach Camrin Azzarano said, "She took what was there and showed patience. We did not shoot well to start, but weput it together late. It was a good day."

Allie Fults, Kendall Rood, Lindsey Moosey, and Emmy Fischer each added single tallies in the win. Lindsey Corbitt made three saves to earn the win.
